Passages is a residential transitional living program that provides intensive independent living skills education. Residents are required to attend school, work part time,and learn financial literacy and other skills to prepare them for independence. After a stay of up to 18 months, graduates continue to receive services to enable them to make a smooth transition into adulthood.

Street outreach services are targeted to reach adolescents and young adults between the ages of 13 and 21, who are living on the street or in other unsafe environments. The objectives of the Street S.M.A.R.T. program are to provide youth with food, clothing, and blankets while on the streets, and easy access to a crisis intervention program (e.g. Brahma House) or transitional living program (e.g. Passages, My Place, Whitney House). Youth are also provided with referrals and help in obtaining necessary services such as medical/mental health care; vital documents; rape crisis information and support; transportation; substance abuse education and information; immediate crisis intervention counseling; HIV/AIDS education and information; safe sex education and information; survival aid; prenatal information and education; and job readiness assessment and job search help.

Homeless individuals/families are placed in area shelters/motels with follow-up services by social work staff of the Board of Social Services to resolve homelessness. If needed, meals and transportation to shelter site can also be provided.

Whitney House is a transitional living program for five females, ages 18 to 21, providing the skills needed to live independently. While in residence, they are required to attend school, work part-time, manage their finances and participate in the Pathways independent living program to learn the skills necessary to make the transition to adulthood. After a stay of 18 months, graduates continue to receive services to enable them to lead productive lives.
