The purpose of the Academic Support Center is to guide and support RVCC students as they become independent life-long learners. The Academic Support Center (ASC) provides FREE comprehensive tutoring services to all registered RVCC students. Free drop-in tutoring is available for most disciplines including, but not limited to : Math, English, Science, Social Science, Computer Science and ESL. Math and English tutors are available during all hours of operation. Other disciplines are scheduled based on tutor availability. Please check the center or the website for updated schedules.

Offers academic advising, transfer counseling, personal counseling, international student advising, adult programs, and workshops that focus on academic skills and personal development. Provides free & confidential short-term counseling services to students, crisis intervention/referral to Psychiatric Emergency Screening (PES), brief assessment of psychiatric disorders and substance abuse and referral to inpatient and outpatient treatment providers. Referral to programs & services in the community to address basic needs, e.g., housing, food, safety, legal concerns, etc.

The Children`s Campus at RVCC provides a stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The Center, licensed by the State of New Jersey, fosters learning for young children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. Students enrolled in RVCC`s Early Childhood Education degree program work in the Center to enhance their professional skills. The Center is open twelve months a year to children whose parents are RVCC students, and RVCC staff or faculty. Care is available when the College is open, even if classes are not in session.

The Department of Campus Safety provides a variety of safety, emergency and informational services to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all members of the campus community. Emergency telephones are located throughout the main campus and parking lot areas, and provide a direct link to the Campus Safety Office. Red colored telephones are in every hallway of every building and blue colored telephones are in exterior parking lots and near campus buildings. Our efforts include high-visibility patrolling, prompt responses and investigations of campus incidents, furnishing guard services at all campus events, maintaining a confidential tips line and maintaining close working relationships with local law enforcement and other responding agencies.

RVCC offers individual career counseling and assessment services to currently enrolled matriculated students (those planning to obtain a degree at the college) and to alumni. Career counseling can assist individuals in making informed choices about career and educational plans. A Career Counselor can help identify interests, skills and values and relate them to appropriate occupational goals.
