Brahma House serves 16 boys and girls, ages 13 to 18, and provides shelter, food, individual counseling, family therapy, referral to other services, and advocacy. The director and case management staff monitor treatment plans for residents, and a certified teacher provides basic skills education in the in-house school program called the Transitional Learning Center (TLC). The youth counselor staff provides direct supervision and support to youth, implementing numerous programs and daily activities. Street outreach staff are also available to work with adolescents in Somerset County who are living on the street or in other unsafe environments.

Services include housing and financial literacy counseling, legal consultation for legal issues involving home ownership, foreclosure and home purchase, assistance locating affordable housing, saving match program up to $1,200 for income-eligible individuals and NJ HomeKeeper mortgage assistance up to $48,000 for recently unemployed or under-employed. CJHRC cannot assist persons that need a housing subsidy or are unable to pay past-due rent. Clients trying to locate affordable housing must be able to afford fair market housing in NJ and pass a credit check. Homebuyers must be prepared to pay down payment and closing costs.
